Google Labs

Labs is where some of Google's most interesting, groundbreaking AI apps are first released. I had the pleasure of working with the Labs team to introduce Pomelli, Whisk, and Doppl to the world.

I'm incredibly proud to have directed the animation for these launch videos, and to have helped forge the fruitful partnership between Hook and Google Labs.

Pomelli Launch Video

The Product
Pomelli is a tool for small businesses that let's them generate custom ad-campaigns by simply entering in their business URL.

Outcome
‍‍
One of the highest performing Google Labs product launch videos ever. The design and motion language we developed for this video has been duplicated across a range of product release videos and GIFs.

Whisk Launch Video

The Product
The Google Labs team asked us to come up with a fun sizzle video to launch their new AI-powered image generator, showing off how easy it is to "whisk together" inspiration photos and create something totally new.

My Role
Motion director: assembled the team, gave feedback, contributed some (good?) ideas, did a pinch of 3D animation and generally tried to keep the vibe light and fluffy. See what I did there?

Doppl Launch Video

The Product
Doppl was a short-lived (alas!) AI-powered clothing try-on app from Google Labs. We had a blast figuring out how to visualize AI viewing and transforming candid photos into magical outfit-styling snaps.
